This document sets forth the Privacy Policy for The Village Longueville website, www.thevillagelongueville.com.au.

This Policy applies to all persons and stakeholders involved with The Village Longueville, including:

Clients, business associates and potential clients and their employees
External service providers (medical officers, allied health practitioners/personnel, suppliers and contractors) and their employees
To support the privacy and confidentiality rights of residents, staff and visitors, The Village Longueville will meet the requirements of the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 to ensure all residents, staff and visitors are informed of and understand the surveillance mechanisms in place.
Collection of Information
The Village Longueville collects and holds the personal information of residents, employees, volunteers, and contractors. “Personal information” means information we hold about an individual from which their identity is either clear or can be reasonably determined.
Personal information may include:
Residents: name, date of birth, contact details, medical history, financial information, care plans, assessment records, photographs for medical purposes, and related documentation.
Employees: name, date of birth, address, next of kin, employment and tax details, bank details, police checks, medical and training records.
Volunteers: name, contact details, police checks, driver’s licence (if relevant).
Contractors: name, business details, qualifications, insurance certificates, and police checks.
The Village Longueville will only collect information directly from the individual (or with consent from their representative). Personal information may be gathered from forms, telephone calls, emails, interviews and assessments. It is collected only when necessary to provide health services, employment, or contractual arrangements, or as required by Australian law.

Security and Storage
The Village Longueville takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes physical and electronic safeguards, password protection, and secure storage systems.
Staff receive ongoing training regarding confidentiality and privacy obligations. When personal information is no longer required, it will be securely destroyed or de-identified.
Access and Correction
Individuals may request access to or correction of personal information held by The Village Longueville by writing to the Executive Manager of the facility. Requests will be handled within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. Reasons will be provided in writing if access or correction is denied.
Surveillance
The Village Longueville may use CCTV and other surveillance systems in common areas (excluding private and sensitive spaces such as bathrooms or change rooms) for the safety and security of residents and staff.
Any use of optical, listening, or tracking devices will occur only with consent and in compliance with the Surveillance Devices Act 2007.
Data Breaches
In the event of a notifiable data breach, The Village Longueville will:
Secure and investigate the breach
Notify affected individuals (where appropriate)
Report to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if serious harm is likely
Take steps to prevent recurrence
Complaints and Reviews
Any concerns or complaints about privacy or this policy should be made in writing to the Group Operations and Quality Manager at The Village Longueville. Complaints will be reviewed confidentially and promptly, with written feedback provided.
